Don’t forget about Jim Bohannon’s other Westwood One shows:
Once The Jim Bohannon Show ends, the staff moves into news-gathering mode, preparing for Jim’s morning show, America in the Morning. AITM, as we fondly call it, was commercial radio’s first early morning news magazine, and it still leads the way today with a lively mixture of news, weather, sports, business, interviews, and the lighter news of the day that will get you up and on your way with a smile.
America in the Morning is heard around the country in both 30- and 60-minute versions. The first half-hour features the top news of the day, reported by some of America’s leading news correspondents; the nation’s weather from Dr. Joe Sobel (left) or one of the other dependable meteorologists from AccuWeather.com; the day’s top business news from Charlie Turner (right) or one of his colleagues from Marketwatch.com; and a look at the sports headlines of the morning. The half-hour is topped off with Jim Bohannon’s signature daily feature “The Offbeat,” which is exactly what the title implies: a humorous look at something just a bit off the beaten track. The 60-minute version of the show continues with a fresh look at the day’s leading news stories, an update on the weather from AccuWeather.com, an edition of CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric's Notebook, and a look back at the previous day's scores and a look ahead at the day in sports with Robert Workman (left). In this half-hour you’ll also hear host Jim Bohannon’s daily interview with newsmakers and movers and shakers on topics people like you are talking about. By the time America in the Morning is done, you’ll be the best-informed person at the water cooler!
AITM airs live in the 5:06 am Eastern Time hour each weekday. It is repeated, updated as events warrant, at 5:06 am Central Time and 5:06 am Pacific Time.
Miss our former colleague Tony Roberts? (We know we do!) Visit www.blueandgold.com to hear his Internet radio show on Notre Dame football, Irish Huddle! It's on every Thursday at 1:00 pm Eastern Time!

And if twenty hours per week of live radio isn’t enough, Jim Bohannon is also the host of Westwood One’s weekend feature magazine America This Week. ATW repeats some of the best feature stories heard during the week on America in the Morning, and adds to it with another edition of "The Offbeat" and a weekly discussion of the newest movie and DVD releases with Westwood One Entertainment Critic Chuck Rich (right). America This Week is heard each Saturday or Sunday, depending on when your local radio station chooses to air it.
Tom Delach has been the producer of both America on the Morning and America This Week since January, 2004, following a stint as producer of The Jim Bohannon Show. If you’d like to comment on either America in the Morning or America This Week, you can e-mail Tom at aitm@jimbotalk.net. |
